For existing and prospective clients
Keep it clear and concise
Research from the FSCS published in 2023 reveals that only a quarter of consumers trust the UK financial services industry to act in their best interests. We believe this ‘trust gap’ can be bridged with high-quality, frequent content, and this is borne out by recent data from financial research firm, YCharts. Their study found that nine in 10 advised clients say that frequency of communication and information sharing has a big influence on their likelihood of staying with their adviser, as well as referring friends and family. The same content you use to communicate with existing clients can often be used when prospecting for new clients, as well as on your website, on social media or in videos, reinforcing the fact that you are on top of current topics and are a knowledgeable source of information.
We are hopeful that Consumer Duty will improve public perceptions of and trust in the financial services industry. And the regulation means it is more important than ever to not only communicate, but also to ensure those communications are relevant, clear and concise, delivering useful information to your various client and target audiences.
Despite the proliferation of communication methods at your disposal, choosing the right distribution methods, is where things can get complicated.
