Marching throughout March

This March, TOMD will be taking on an epic virtual walking challenge around the UK to raise money for Charlotte Sawyer, a four-year-old girl fighting a rare form of cancer. Please click here to read our blog and follow our progress.

The challenge

We have committed to walking five million steps, equating to 2,500 miles, on a virtual tour of the UK. We’ll be ‘stopping off’ at 20 destinations along the way, including London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Derry, Cardiff and Land’s End to visit just a few of our clients across the country as well as a few beauty spots, before looping all the way back to Sawbridgeworth by the end of the month. We’ll be sharing regular updates on our progress via our social media accounts, so make sure to check our pages to keep up to date with our journey!

Our cause

Charlotte is a young relative of David one of the longest serving members of the TOMD team. At four years of age, she has been diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), which affects just 60 children every year. As well as chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery, Charlotte will also need proton beam therapy, a specialist treatment only available in Manchester. This is proving to be a logistical and financial challenge for Charlotte’s parents, who must regularly travel to Cambridge and Manchester from their home in Suffolk, often staying close by for several nights in accommodation. We would like to raise money to help them meet these costs and concentrate on getting Charlotte the treatment she needs.
